Resource-Review Training

Excellence has no end-point. There is always the next step to take, the next small improvement that you can make, the next new idea to be imagined, the next enhancement you can create. Join us on a journey to excellence! Challenge yourself! Your clients and learners deserve the best you can give. Have you challenged yourself to produce the best EE programs or materials possible? Are you building excellence into your design of EE programs/materials? Why not assess how your EE program/materials stack up according to the national guidelines for excellence? Now is your chance- take the challenge of excellence - renew, refresh, reinvigorate your EE program/materials. In this self-review workshop you'll get up close and personal with the national Guidelines for Excellence - and learn how they'll be applied to Colorado's review process. Then, you'll be given time to analyze and self-review one of your own programs and/or materials -- in a collaborative setting, with help available from Guidelines coaches and mentors, and peers. Self-reviews are required to submit your EE program/material to the Colorado EE Resource Review process. It's probably the most important training in environmental education that you could possibly take!

Scientist in Residence

Have one of our naturalists on your site full time for two to four weeks. While at your school, our scientist will work with every student in such ways as providing enrichment activities to classroom curriculum, supervising science research projects, hosting a family science night, or organizing a school or community science action project. In addition, the scientist will facilitate teacher training on using science to teach other subjects and using the school yard as an outdoor lab.

Science Explorers - Professional Development Program

Science Explorers is a professional development program for teachers. At a Science Explorers workshop, each team (composed of a teacher and 5 students) rotates through three mini-workshops based on an integrative theme--this year's theme is Light and Optics, for example. Students work side-by-side with their teacher, providing opportunities for leadership development and professional growth. This program supports Colorado Content Standards, and, at the end of each workshop, the attending teachers receive materials and curriculum to take back to their schools.
